Questions before you request a quote
What is a sworn translation and when do I need one?
It is a translation with legal validity, produced by a public translator registered with a Board of Trade. It is required whenever a foreign document has to have official effect in Brazil, or a Brazilian document has to be accepted abroad: certificates, diplomas, contracts, visa paperwork and court proceedings.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on the volume and the language pair. Short documents such as certificates are usually ready in 1 to 3 business days. The exact deadline comes with the quote, and express delivery is available for urgent cases.
How is the quote calculated?
By the volume of text, the language pair, the technical complexity and the deadline you need. The price is closed before the work starts, with no surprises and no hidden costs.
What is the difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpreting?
In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter translates in real time with equipment and a booth, which suits conferences and events with an audience. In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter translates during pauses in speech, with no equipment, which is ideal for meetings, negotiations, hearings and site visits.
Are my documents kept confidential?
Yes. The whole team signs a confidentiality agreement, access to files is restricted to the project team and, when your company requires it, a specific NDA is signed before the quote is even issued.
Does Eko’s advise on the Hague Apostille?
Yes. We advise when the apostille is required, in which order to do it (before or after the translation) and how to obtain it at a notary office, so that the document is accepted in the destination country without rework.
Which file formats do you accept?
PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images and photos of documents, as well as technical formats and subtitle files. With the electronic editing service, the translation is delivered in the same layout as the original.
