What proofreading costs
The price depends on volume, language and, above all, on the state the text arrives in. A well written text needing a light pass is far less work than one requiring whole paragraphs to be rewritten.
That is why we assess a sample before quoting. The price is then fixed and does not change, even if the text turns out to be harder than it looked. If the assessment shows that retranslating is the better option, we say so before starting, not halfway through.

Do you proofread translations made by other companies?
Yes, and it is a frequent request. Send the translated text together with the source, because the revision compares the two sentence by sentence. If the translation has structural problems we will tell you before proceeding: sometimes retranslating is cheaper and faster than repairing.
