Consecutive Interpreting for conversations that matter
The interpreter translates during pauses in speech, with no equipment. The right choice for meetings, negotiations, hearings, training and site visits.
- No equipment or booth required
- Interpreters specialised in the subject
- In person in São Paulo or online
What consecutive interpreting is
In consecutive interpreting the speaker talks for a stretch and then pauses so the interpreter can render what was said. No equipment is involved: the interpreter is in the room, or on the call, taking notes and speaking in turn.
The trade-off is time. A consecutively interpreted meeting takes roughly twice as long as an uninterpreted one, because everything is said twice. In exchange you get precision, the chance to clarify on the spot and a far lighter setup.
Which one do you need? Consecutive suits small groups and conversation: meetings, negotiations, hearings, technical visits. Simultaneous suits an audience listening rather than talking: conferences, corporate events, broadcasts. If the room has more than about thirty people, simultaneous is almost always the answer.
The interpreter is chosen for the subject as well as the language pair. A contract negotiation, a factory audit and a medical consultation demand different vocabularies, and sending briefing material in advance measurably improves the result.

What consecutive interpreting costs
Interpreting is priced by time booked, normally in half-day or full-day blocks, plus travel where the event is outside São Paulo. The language pair and the technical level of the subject also weigh on the price.
Booking early matters more here than in any other service: interpreters qualified in a given pair and subject are a finite resource on a given date. For less common languages, ask well before you fix the date of the meeting.
Sending briefing material in advance, an agenda, a presentation, a glossary of product names, costs you nothing and measurably improves the result.
Credibility built over 24 years
Specialists in each field
Every project goes to translators with proven experience in your sector, with a dedicated glossary and consistency across your documents.
Quality control at every stage
No file leaves without a check of terminology, cohesion and fidelity to the source. Quality is part of the service, not an extra.
Confidentiality guaranteed by contract
A confidentiality agreement with the whole team, and a specific NDA when your company requires one, signed before the quote.

Electronic editing included when needed: tables, charts, images and formatting preserved in the final file.

Eko’s has been a partner for many years. Always attentive and willing to meet tight deadlines without losing the excellent quality. Having Eko’s makes a real difference in our work.
Eko’s always meets our demand and hits the deadline. They have never turned down an urgent request. They deliver quality work and are one of the very few companies qualified to work with us.
I want to congratulate Eko’s for all these years of partnership, serving us with excellence and with highly qualified, efficient professionals.
From the first contact I was well looked after, transparency at every stage and not a single problem with them, a fair price for all the work done. I do not live in Brazil and they handled every step to send my daughter’s certificate, already apostilled, here to the US.
Faster and better value than anyone else. Excellent work, service worth a ten out of ten.
I did not know them, but I decided to take a chance and have some documents translated with Eko’s. They were fast, attentive and the price was fair too. I am pleased with the service and I recommend them.
Consecutive Interpreting
What is the difference between consecutive and simultaneous interpreting?
In consecutive interpreting the speaker pauses and the interpreter renders what was said, with no equipment. In simultaneous interpreting the interpreter translates in real time, with a booth and headsets. Consecutive suits conversation, simultaneous suits an audience.
Does consecutive interpreting need equipment?
No, and that is one of its advantages. The interpreter is in the room or on the call. That makes it suitable for meetings, technical visits and hearings, where setting up a booth would be impractical.
How much longer does a meeting take?
Roughly twice as long, because everything is said twice. Take that into account when planning the agenda: a two-hour meeting should be scheduled as four.
Do you interpret online?
Yes. Consecutive interpreting works well on video calls and it is a frequent request for meetings with participants in different countries.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can. Interpreters qualified in a given pair and subject are a finite resource on a given date, and for less common languages availability is the binding constraint, not price.
Should I send material in advance?
Please do. An agenda, a presentation or a glossary of product and personal names costs you nothing, is treated confidentially, and measurably improves the quality of the interpreting.
Send your document and get a closed price
A legible photo or a PDF is enough for a quote. You get the price, the deadline and guidance on apostilling within 1 business hour.
